# Build orders by vendor or brand

## Our 'Build order' wizard creates draft orders for by gathering low-stock and low-depth products by vendor or brands. So you can review, adjust order, and send it off quickly and easily.

### **Before you start**

Building orders is fastest when your vendors are set up with their POS brands. That’s how the wizard knows which products belong to which vendor. If you haven’t added vendors yet, see [**Adding your vendors to Happy Buyers**](https://knowledge.happycabbage.me/vendors?hsLang=en). You can still order by brand without vendors.

 

### **Click the 'Build order' button to begin**

 It's easy to start building orders from multiple places on Happy Buyers, you can find this button:

- On the [**Orders page**](https://restock.happycabbage.ai/orders), select **Build order**
- From the **order dropdown in the navigation bar** 
    - Open the draft dropdown and select **Build order** (Want an empty draft instead? Choose **Start a blank draft**)

 

### **Step 1: Choose how to build your order**

| #### **By vendor** | - Select a vendor, then your stores - Only stores in the vendor’s state appear All of the vendor’s brands are included by default. - To narrow it down, select **Choose specific brands**, or **Include all brands** to switch back |

| #### **By brand** | - Select your stores, then pick brands - Only brands available in your selected stores’ states appear |

**No vendors showing?** You’ll see a prompt linking to vendor setup. **[Add a vendor](https://knowledge.happycabbage.me/vendors?hsLang=en)** with its POS brands in Org settings, then come back to the order builder.

 

### **Step 1: Draft options**

##### Choose how your drafts are split:

- **One combined draft:** All stores in a single order
- **A draft per store:** One order per store, so you can edit and send each separately

##### Then set your order settings (Days on hand, lead time, and lookback period) for non-strain-based products.

##### **The wizard pulls low-stock and low-depth items in two ways.**

- **Strain-based products:   
  Vapes, prerolls, flower and extracts** come from your **product lines**, and each product line uses its own order settings
- **Non strain-based products:   
  Edibles, drinks, tinctures, topicals, tablets and other cannabis products** come in as individual products, using the days on hand, lead time and lookback you set on the order wizard

### **Step 3: Review & build**

You’ll see a summary of your order, the number of stores and brands, and the order settings that will apply. Select **Build** and Happy Buyers gathers your low-stock products. 

### **Your drafted orders**

When the build finishes, you'll see all of the drafts that were created by the wizard.

If a store has nothing low on stock for your selection, no draft is created for it.

 

### **Editing and sending**

1. Click **View order** to open draft order preview.
2. Select **Edit order** to open it in your cart, where you can adjust products and quantities before sending.

You can always view all of your drafts by clicking on the [Orders page](https://restock.happycabbage.ai/orders?status=DRAFT) and filtering to all order with the draft status.

**Tip:** The wizard gives you a strong starting point, not a final order. Expect to review quantities, especially the first time you use it with a new vendor.
