# Happy Buyers MCP Connector for Claude

### **Overview**

**The Happy Buyers MCP connector lets Claude read your product lines, inventory health, sales and orders, and create draft orders in Happy Buyers for you to review. You ask in plain language; Claude pulls the answer from Happy Buyers instead of guessing from raw sales exports.**

### **Why use the Happy Buyers MCP over your POS connector?**

A POS connector gives Claude raw transactions. The Happy Buyers MCP sits on top of data that is already cleaned, structured and run through True Demand math, which accounts for stockouts, discounts, substitutions and product-line rotation. The math and your order settings stay in Happy Buyers, not in the chat, so your numbers don't drift from one conversation to the next.

 

### **What you can do**

**With the connector on, Claude can:**

- Create draft orders, including multi-store orders combined into one
- Build orders from a vendor's wholesale menu (spreadsheet, PDF or Apex Trading listing)
- Schedule orders to be drafted on a recurring basis
- Analyze inventory health, sales trends and aging inventory
- Pull True Demand run rates and days on hand by product line and store
- Read and update product lines and their order settings
- Add blockout dates, for example to line up with a promo calendar
- Discontinue (cut) products from reorders

The connector covers these areas of Happy Buyers: orders and order items, product lines, vendors, POS brands, inventory health (current and history), product inventory, daily sales, blockout dates, carry status, universal categories, and an account check that confirms which organization you're connected to.

 

 

### **Permissions you approve**

When you connect, Happy Buyers asks you to approve these permissions. Read permissions let Claude look; write permissions let Claude make changes in your account. Claude will have access to the same stores your Happy Buyers users has access to.

| **orders:write** | Create and edit orders |
| **blockout\_dates:read** | Read blockout dates |
| **blockout\_dates:write** | Add and edit blockout dates |
| **vendors:write** | Create and edit vendors |

 

### **Before you start**

You need three things:

- **A Happy Buyers account** 
    - You'll sign in with the same login you use at [restock.happycabbage.ai](https://restock.happycabbage.ai/).
    - Not a customer yet? [Start a free trial](https://www.happycabbage.io/buyers-free-trial).
- **A Claude plan that supports connectors** 
    - On Claude Team and Enterprise, your Claude account admin may need to add or approve the connector for your organization.
- **Your POS connected to Happy Buyers.** 
    - Claude can only see data Happy Buyers has synced from your POS.

💡 Claude acts as you. It can only reach the Happy Buyers organization you sign in to, and you can disconnect at any time.

 

### **How to connect**

Setup takes about two minutes. You (or your Claude account admin) only do it once.

1. ##### In Claude, go to **Customize  \>  Connectors  \>  +Add  \>  Add Custom Connector**
2. ##### Name it, for example Happy Buyers.
3. ##### Paste the server URL: [**https://mcp.happycabbage.ai/mcp**](https://mcp.happycabbage.ai/mcp)
4. ##### Click **Add**, then **Connect**.
5. ##### Sign in with your Happy Buyers login and click **Allow**.

### **How to connect in Claude Code**

Run this in your terminal, then type /mcp inside Claude Code and choose **happy-buyers** to sign in through your browser:

### **Check that it worked**

##### Start a new chat and ask:

***Which Happy Buyers organization am I connected to?*** Claude should answer with your organization name. If it doesn't, see Troubleshooting.

 

### **To disconnect**

##### Go to **Customize \> Connectors**, select **Happy Buyers** and click **Disconnect**.

Claude stops using Happy Buyers in your chats. You can reconnect any time.

 

 

### **Example prompts**

##### Copy any of these into Claude and swap in your own brands, stores and numbers.

##### **Build a draft order for a brand**

> *Generate my order for \[brand\] at my \[state\] stores. I'd like 21 days on hand. Combine it into a single draft order.*

Claude reads the brand's product lines and their True Demand run rates at each store, works out quantities to hit 21 days on hand, then creates one draft order in Happy Buyers. Open **Orders** in Happy Buyers to review quantities and send it yourself.

##### **Find what's running low**

> *Which product lines at \[store\] are under 7 days on hand? Sort by how fast they sell.*

Claude pulls product-line inventory for that store and returns the low-stock lines with days on hand, run rate and units to reorder. Nothing in your account changes.

##### **Spot cash tied up in aging inventory**

> *How has my inventory health changed over the last month? Where is aged inventory piling up, by brand and category?*

Claude compares current inventory health to its history and breaks out aged inventory dollars so you can see what to discount or stop reordering.

##### **Order from a wholesale menu, to a budget**

> *Here's \[vendor\]'s wholesale menu. Build a draft order for all my stores and keep it under $10,000. \[attach the file\]*

Claude matches the menu's product names to your product lines, checks what each store needs, trims to your budget and saves a draft order. It tells you which menu items it couldn't match.

##### **Keep promos from skewing your run rates**

> *Add blockout dates for \[store\] on \[dates\] for our \[promo name\] promo.*

Claude adds the blockout dates to Happy Buyers. You can see and edit them in   
[**Org settings \> Blockout dates**](https://restock.happycabbage.ai/org-settings/blockout-dates).

##### **💡 TIP: Start with draft orders**

Claude builds the draft, you review quantities, make the calls only you can make, and hit send. More prompt ideas are in the [**AI Hub prompt library**](https://www.happycabbage.io/ai-hub).

 

### **Data access, privacy and security**

- **You sign in with Happy Buyers, not Claude.** The connector uses OAuth 2.0 with PKCE. Claude never sees your Happy Buyers password; it receives an access token tied to your organization and the permissions you approved.
- **Claude only fetches what a request needs.** Happy Buyers data reaches Claude when Claude calls a tool to answer something you asked in that conversation.
- **All traffic is encrypted.** The server is only reachable over HTTPS.

- **You stay in control.** Disconnect at any time from **Customize \> Connectors**.

### **Troubleshooting**

| ##### **Claude isn't using Happy Buyers** | Check that the Happy Buyers connector is switched on for the chat, then name it in your prompt: *Using Happy Buyers, which product lines are low at \[store\]?* |
| --- | --- |
| ##### **Sign-in fails or Claude says it isn't authorized** | 1. Confirm you can log in at [**restock.happycabbage.ai**](https://restock.happycabbage.ai/) 2. In Claude, go to **Customize \> Connectors**, disconnect Happy Buyers, then connect again. 3. If you still can't connect, email us (see Support). |
| ##### **I can't add a custom connector** | On Claude Team and Enterprise plans, adding connectors may be limited to account owners. Ask your Claude admin to add Happy Buyers for your organization. |
| ##### **Claude is looking at the wrong organization** | Ask Claude *Which Happy Buyers organization am I connected to?* If it's the wrong one, disconnect and sign back in with the right Happy Buyers login. |
| ##### **Claude's numbers don't match the app** | Run rates and reorder quantities depend on desired days on hand, lead time and lookback period. Tell Claude the same values you use in Happy Buyers, for example *21 days on hand, 3-day lead time, 30-day lookback*, or ask it to use each product line's saved settings. |
| ##### **I can't find the order Claude made** | Claude creates draft orders. Open [**Orders**](https://restock.happycabbage.ai/orders) in Happy Buyers, where drafts sit alongside saved orders. ### **FAQs**

| ##### **Does Claude send orders to my vendors?** | We recommend having Claude build draft orders. You review them in Happy Buyers and send them yourself. |
| --- | --- |
| ##### **Does it work with AI tools other than Claude?** | The Happy Buyers MCP is a standard remote MCP server, so any AI app that supports remote MCP connectors with OAuth sign-in can use the same server URL. |
| ##### **Does it cost extra?** | Nope! |
| ##### **What if I have hundreds of product lines?** | Claude pages through large lists automatically, up to 500 product lines per request. |
