How does Happy Cabbage manage Opt-Ins & Opt-Outs?

How does Happy Cabbage Analytics handle opt-ins?

When you begin to work with Happy Cabbage Analytics, we will take existing opt-in information from the following sources:

  • Point-of-sale (POS) system
  • Any existing SMS or loyalty solution
  • E-commerce platform, if not connected to your POS system

After initially pulling opt-in information from these sources at integration, HCA will continue to capture new opt-ins within the POS system in our nightly data syncs. 

It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that all opt-in data is accurate and made available to HCA during the integrations process.

How does Happy Cabbage Analytics handle opt-out management?

For every campaign, Happy Marketers defaults to include “Text STOP to unsubscribe” language to the end of the message. We require this language in every campaign to comply with federal marketing regulations.

When a recipient texts STOP, UNSUBSCRIBE, QUIT, or a number of other related flag words, our messaging provider (Telnyx) automatically prevents the recipient’s phone number from receiving messages from your account in the future. There is nothing a Happy Marketers user must do to facilitate the opt-out process, as HCA’s messaging servicer handles it on the back end.

In the event that a recipient requests to stop receiving text messages (e.g. the recipient calls or emails the storefront asking to be removed from the texting list) there are two options for how to facilitate that opt-out:

  1. The recipient can text STOP to unsubscribe
  2. If your POS contains SMS opt-in functionality, you can opt the recipient out manually in your POS system, and that data will automatically sync with HCA’s system in 24-48 hours as long as your POS is integrated with HCA via API connection.
