Packages
Drill all the way down to individual packages of a product and see exactly how long each one has been sitting on your shelf. Useful for discounting aging inventory before it eats into your margin.
The Packages page is default sorted by Days Aged, descending, so your oldest packages are always at the top of the list.
Filters available:
- Stores + search
Search by product name or package ID - Stock status
Defaults to In Stock (packages you can still discount and sell) - Received date
Select a date range - Days aged
Set a min/max (e.g., min 60 to see only packages past your discount threshold) - Current inventory
Set a min/max to focus on packages with meaningful units left - Category, POS Brand, Universal Brand, POS Category, POS Subcategory
Discounting aged products through the API
Filtering and finding relevant packages can also be done through our API, which is where the real time savings come in. Instead of exporting a CSV and working through it by hand, you can have an AI agent pull the aged-package data and apply the discounts for you.
- Happy Buyers tells you what to discount. The External API surfaces your aged inventory and the package/POS IDs tied to it.
- Your POS applies the discount. Happy Buyers doesn't change prices in your point-of-sale. The actual markdown is written through your POS's own API.
Connect your AI agent to the Happy Buyers API and:
- Ask your AI agent to find packages based on your specific aging tiers.
Example: Find all packages on the Happy Buyers API 60 days and older. - Map each package to a discount tier.
Example: You could apply your markdown schedule based on Days Aged (e.g., 30/45/60 days → 10%/15%/30% - Write the discount through your POS API.
The agent takes each package's POS ID and sets the discount in your point-of-sale.
Why use Happy Buyers API over the POS API for package data?
By using the Happy Buyers API, your package information is associated to our hyper-accurate product run rates, and all product line data. All of your data exists in one universe, which allows you to ask for more details before deciding what next steps to take with your aging inventory.
Happy Buyers also automatically ignores irrelevant packages in excluded rooms –– your quarantine, returns, samples –– to make sure you are not wasting any focus or effort on the wrong products.
