How to order

How often should you be ordering? 

If you are aiming to keep 14 days on hand, then you can expect to order between 2 and 3 times a month. To identify how often you should be ordering, consider the following -

• How frequently can your vendors make deliveries?
• Do your vendors have order minimums that need to be met, or applicable delivery fees if ordering less than the minimum?
• How much stock can your store physically hold? 
• How much cash are you comfortable having invested in inventory costs?
• How often can your team receive and process orders?
  
  

Ordering strain-based product lines: Flower, Prerolls, Extracts and Vapes

SKU groups (Product Lines) represent collections of interchangeable products that share the same replenishment logic. Instead of forecasting each SKU independently, the system calculates demand for the entire group, ensuring you stock the correct total quantity without double-counting items that rotate or replace each other on the shelves.

We recommend ordering based on product line-level demand (aka SKU groups) for products with rotational strain availability: Flower, Prerolls, Extracts and Vapes.

SKU group logic:

• Treats a set of interchangeable products (e.g., flavors, strains, formats) as one unified product line
• Forecasting is based on the group’s combined sales velocity
• Prevents over-ordering when products frequently rotate or substitute for each other
• Mirrors real consumer behavior (substitution within a brand or product type)

To begin your rotational SKU order:

1. Go to the SKU Groups (Product lines) tab
2. Toggle on Restock only to view all low stock product lines
3. If you are purchasing for a specific brand, type the brand name in the search bar
4. Select the product lines you would like to order using the checkboxes on the left
5. Open the Actions menu
6. Click Add orders to cart

Ordering your evergreen products: Edibles, Drinks, Tinctures, Tablets, Topicals

We recommend ordering based on SKU-level demand for products that are consistently available to reorder. As a separate task, you may need to cut down the variety of products carried and replace with faster-selling varieties, but the overall sell-through at the SKU levels remain accurate for these products. 

Traditional single-SKU forecasting: 

• Analyzes each SKU independently
• Assumes each SKU has unique demand
  
  • For example, a sleep gummy will have it's own unique demand and would not be interchangeable with a traditional gummy from the same brand
• Accurate when products are consistently available to be reordered 
  
  

To begin your traditional SKU order

1.  Go to the All products tab 
2. Select the evergreen products categories: edibles, drinks, tinctures, tablets, & topicals
3. Toggle on Restock only
4. Select the brand(s) you would like to order using the brand filter on the left
5. Adjust your days on hand, lead time, and lookback period settings
6. Select the products you would like to order using the checkboxes on the left
7. Open the Actions menu
8. Click Add selected to cart
